I was born and raised in the northeast corner of Caswell County in NC.  I started hunting with my dad for squirrels and deer around the age of 12.  My dad was also an avid turkey hunter, but I didn't get interested in that until I was 21.  He took me out a couple of times and showed me how it was done.  I finally got my first Tom on my 2nd or 3rd trip out.  I thought then that I had it all figured out.  Little did I know it would take me 3 years to kill my 2nd turkey!  After 29 years of chasing these beautiful birds, I now have killed 95 birds with 3 grand slams as of May 2023.  I could not have done it without the help of my good friend Darrell Madden.  He's played a huge part in helping me make connections all across the country and by producing great turkey calls that get the job done.  Thanks Slammer Series!

 Hi.  I’m Glen Boswell from Providence, NC.  I grew up in this small little town and have lived here all of my life.  After graduating from high school, I joined the United State Marine Corps and proudly served my country. I came back home and started a career with the NC Department of Public Safety and I've worked there for 26 years.  I’ve also served my community through the volunteer Fire & Rescue for 30 years and am currently the Deputy Chief in the department. 

I love the outdoors and hunting.   I have hunted ever since I was 8 years old; beginning with squirrel hunting with my dad. The highlight of my hunting career was traveling to southeastern Montana with Darrell and the Slammer Series Pro Staff and killing a beautiful Merriam turkey.  I’m married to my wife, April, and we have a daughter, Emily. 

I was born and raised in Wake County, NC and moved up to Caswell County in my mid-twenties.  I didn't grow up around hunting nor did I have any interest in it.  Once I moved to the country, I saw the true beauty of the outdoors.  My interest in hunting deer and turkeys grew after the move but I didn't have anyone to "show me the ropes."

I'll never forget that feeling when I harvested my first deer (a doe).  Soon after that I learned the importance & responsibility of corn feeders and checking cameras.  I harvested my first buck in the fall of 2019 and it's become my yearly routine - watch that one special deer all season and then harvest at the perfect moment.

Turkey hunting was a little more challenging for me.  Thanks to Slammer Series Turkey Calls, I harvested my first turkey in the Spring of 2023.  I hope my hunts will continue to be successful and to eventually move my way up to exotics.  As a passion, hunting allows me to forge a meaningful connection with nature - it promotes a deeper appreciation within me for the environment and wildlife.  I wish everyone could see and appreciate God's greatest gifts!  I'm proud to be a part of the Slammer Series Pro Staff team!

We have been married since April 1989.  We have 2 adult boys, 2 dogs and 2 cats.  We love being in the outdoors together, hunting and fishing every chance we get.  John works for Tracker Marine Boating Center at Bass Pro Shop in Cary, NC.   Karen is in Human Resources at NC State University - College of Veterinary Medicine.

We have always enjoyed fisher together, but we did not get into hunting until  1999-2000.  Karen got a spike on her first deer and was hooked.  It took her a few years to get her first turkey, but when you only get to go hunting one day in the season, it makes it tough. 

A good way to describe us is as follows:  John loves to fish and likes to hunt, but Karen loves to hunt and likes to fish.  We love sharing our outdoor adventures with anyone interested in hearing about them!

I was born and raised in Pittsylvania County, VA near the NC state line.  I've been an avid hunter my entire life.  I give all credit for that to my dad - he taught me everything I know.  When I was young, he would always include me in the hunt even though I was too young to actually understand it.  Looking back, he's the reason I'm so passionate about hunting.  I've always been enthusiastic about deer hunting; whether it's in a tree stand or dropping our hound dogs in the woods.  Within the past year or so I became more interested in turkey hunting.  I'm really looking forward to the upcoming season in hopes of harvesting a turkey while using Slammer Series calls.  I would like to thank Darrell for including me in this wonderful opportunity.  Thank you Slammer Series!
